TERMITE CONTROL FAQ
(Frequently Answered Questions)

How long does the treatment last?
It depends on the soil conditions where the chemical is being applied. If the soil conditions are wet, it can eventually break down the chemical barrier. Soil erosion is another factor; if the treated soil is removed by erosion, untreated soil is left in its place. Under dry and ideal conditions, a chemical barrier should last for many years.

Because of the inconsistency in the real-time longevity of the chemical, it is very important to keep a termite protection agreement on your home. Email Us Today to check on the status of your coverage. Be sure and note the actual address of the property, and provide us with a telephone number where you can be reached.

In our experience in the pest control business, we have seen situations where homes that we treated over 30 years ago are still free of any termite infestation. We have also seen properties which were re-infested by termites within two years of treatment. We have witnessed these two extremes, and everything in between.

Does termite treatment kill the termites in the walls?
Termites in the walls will die a few weeks after the initial treatment, if the termites are subterranean. Subterranean termites found in this area require moisture daily and could only live in a wall if there was a water leak providing moisture to the wall area.

Will it be safe for us to be home during treatment?
That depends on several factors, such as the level or type of treatment, type of home construction, and weather conditions. You should speak in detail with the technician or representative about suggested treatment plans to determine if you can safely remain at home while service is performed.

Should I remove my pets during treatment?
With any treatment, there are general recommendations that may or may not apply to your situation. Pets (cats, dogs) should not be allowed access to a crawl space beneath a structure; this is for the welfare of the pet, and your safety as a homeowner. Among the obvious reasons are interference with air ducts, electrical wiring, insulation, and the effectiveness of termite treatment by soil disturbance. In structures built on a slab, the pets should be kept away from the work area while service is being performed, even with the latest low-odor chemicals. When the chemical dries, it is only a danger to the termites.

Is termite control guaranteed?
All termite services performed in Arkansas are warranted for one year, as required by the Arkansas State Plant Board. Most warranties include re-treatment and termite damage repair/replacement (where active termites are found) after a treatment has had sufficient time to be effective. Some warranties are for re-treatment only, and no damage repair or replacement is included. If that is the case, it will be stated in bold print on the warranty that you signed and agreed to have performed. After the first year of warranty, customers can usually extend the warranty by paying an annual renewal fee, an amount much less than the original treatment cost. Email us or call us today to check the status of your agreement.
